Computer case
fans are important for keeping your computer system running cool and stable. Proper
air flow is dictated by what case fans you use and where you use them. Generally,
most cases should have at least one intake case fan and one exhaust case fan to
keep the air inside your case free flowing.
We carry a wide variety of
case fans in different sizes and specifications. The most commonly used sizes are
80mm, 92mm, and 120mm case fans. The most common width is 25mm. Some manufacturers
label their 92mm fans as 90mm, but they are actually the same size. To determine
the size of your current computer case fan, measure the frame of the case fan from
side to side.
There are two main factors
most people are concerned with when purchasing a new computer case fan. First, is
air flow which is measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). Next, is how much noise
the fan produces at full speed which is measured in decibels (dBA). We have conveniently
listed the CFM and dBA rating of each case fan in the title for easy comparison.
Some cases now support the
use of different sized case fans by supplying mounting holes for all common fan
sizes. We always recommend using the largest fan possible. Using larger case fans
allow more airflow without producing significantly more noise. This gives you the
best of both worlds in performance and silence.
Additional accessories such as fan
controllers, fan dampeners, and fan grilles and filters can let you customize any
fan to specifically meet your needs.
